We're excited to be investing into our legal offerings, both for our clients and for students with legal backgrounds. We offer a Legal Clerkship and a Graduate Program for law students in our Melbourne and Sydney offices. Through both programs, you'll gain the opportunity to work on a wide range of matters across different legal and business specialist teams.

Through the Legal Clerkship you'll build your skills and networks whilst working with our lawyers on client engagements. You'll gain invaluable exposure to the fundamentals of commercial law in one or more of our key pillars - Corporate Advisory, Regulatory, Employer and Workplace Relations, Projects & Finance, and Legal Tax Services.

The projects you work on will see you learning from leading legal professionals as well as other business professionals who will help you to develop a broad skillset, giving you a headstart towards our Graduate Program.

Type of work you'll undertake as a Clerk:

  • Drafting - preparation of deliverables and reports.
  • Participating in meetings - involvement in face-to-face client meetings, conference calls and internal discussions across the different teams.
  • Data collection - managing requests for information, first review of client documents and conducting necessary searches.
  • Research - researching case law and commentary on legislation for client legal advice.
  • Project support - assisting with project and document management, ensuring filing is in order and maintaining document checklists.
  • Pitches and proposals - assisting with the drafting of proposals of prospective clients and upcoming deals.

Through the Graduate Program, you'll gain a practical understanding of how to use legal skills to solve our clients' problems. With the opportunity to work across a wide range of matters for different legal and business specialist teams, you'll gain exposure to the commercial aspects in action and learn what makes our holistic service legal practice truly unique.

Corporate Advisory
Advising on all aspects of corporate law, including M&A, private equity transactions, restructures, etc. You’ll advise on all aspects of corporate law, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, restructures, foreign investment, initial public offerings and capital market transactions.
Regulatory
Helping clients navigate regulatory requirements to find the best legal solutions to achieve their objectives. You’ll advise on all aspects of regulatory law, including competition, telecommunications and financial services.
Employment & Workplace Relations
Advising on all aspects of employment, workplace relations and safety. You’ll advise on all aspects of employment, workplace relations and safety, including compliance enterprise bargaining, industrial disputes and organisational strategies.
Projects & Finances
Advising government and the private sector on all aspects of infrastructure, energy and utility projects. You’ll advise government and the private sector on all aspects of financing, infrastructure, energy and utility projects, including design and construction, operations, maintenance, disposal, planning and environment.
Digital
Advising clients on all aspects of technology law. You’ll advise on all aspects of technology law, including the commercialisation of data and privacy, cyber security and strategy, cloud contracting and the Internet of Things, technology transformation and outsourcing, blockchain solutions and technology infrastructure.
