Working with some of Australia's largest private client groups

One of the biggest differences Aidan has experienced at PwC is the scale and complexity of work."In my first year with the firm I've worked on cross-border restructures for family groups operating across multiple jurisdictions, supported due diligence for portfolio acquisitions/divestments of large family offices, and managed a range of top 500 regulatory reviews." That exposure has broadened his understanding of different industries, business models and transaction types, as well as the private market more broadly.

Access to industry-leading specialists

For Aidan, one of the greatest advantages of working at PwC is access to specialists who bring deep technical expertise to client engagements. "In my role I work on a variety of transactions from a tax perspective. Being able to collaborate with specialist teams, such as our indirect tax experts or private deals team, is a huge advantage because they truly know their field inside and out."

By bringing together expertise from across the firm, PwC Private can help clients navigate complex situations with confidence, while giving its people the chance to learn from leading specialists in the market.

What's changing in the private market?

Aidan sees the private market shifting on several fronts at once:

"PwC is investing heavily in its Private business globally because there's a significant opportunity for growth. Family offices are evolving, AI capability is improving and the regulatory environment is becoming more complex. All of that changes what clients need from their advisers."

"That evolution is visible in the way family groups are structuring themselves. Ten years ago a lot of family groups ran their affairs through a trusted accountant and a couple of long-standing advisers. Now we're seeing dedicated in-house teams, formal investment committees and proper governance frameworks, often prompted by a generational transition. The questions have shifted from 'how do we remain compliant?' to 'how do we structure this for the next 30 years?"

That forward momentum creates opportunities for professionals who want to be part of a growing business with ambitious plans for the future. It also connects to broader areas of growth, including Finance Managed Services, where teams are helping clients build future-fit finance functions delivered as a service.
