It is critical that you comply with all of the firm’s policies, including the security, technology, Brand Policy when using your smart device for work purposes.
If your smart device is lost or stolen, inform the Tech Hub Service Desk and the Information Protection team (1800 463 732) immediately.
As the owner of your smart device, you are personally responsible for:
- the costs associated with your smart device including paying your smart device account and loss or damage to the device
- complying with your carrier’s terms and conditions
- resolving hardware and carrier network issues with your carrier
- insuring your smart device
- ensure your phone software is kept up to date
It is important to note that we will retire the management profile on your PwC managed device remotely and remove all proprietary data, if the PwC security configuration on your smart device is hacked, or the operating system is modified.
As your personal smart device is used for business purposes, in order to protect the security of firm and client information, the firm will maintain some controls over your smart device. When you install Workspace One (via the HUB app), Tech Hub will have the capability to view a list of all applications installed on your smart device (no personal data or settings are visible to administrators).
PwC Australia will retire the management profile on your PwC managed device remotely and remove all proprietary data, if:
- you report your smart device as lost or stolen
- you leave the firm
- the incorrect password is used after 10 attempts
- your smart device is not connected to PwC Australia servers for 60 days (i.e. you have not unlocked or used your phone)
- you take a leave of absence without requesting access to PwC Australia email on your smart device prior to leaving
- your smart device is detected as being hacked, has custom firmware installed, or has a modified operating system.
PwC Australia will always attempt to advise you in advance if we need to retire the management profile on your PwC managed device remotely. However, by installing Workspace One (via the HUB app) on your phone you agree the firm will retire the management profile on your PwC managed device remotely and remove all proprietary data in the circumstances above.
You should back up your smart device frequently in case your smart device has to be restored, so that you do not lose information.
Tech Hub can assist you if you are having issues connecting to Workspace One, PwC email, calendar and applications, as long as your device is a compatible or supported model.
Your telecommunications carrier can assist you with issues related to a faulty smart device or hardware, the carrier network, carrier terms and conditions, billing details, plans and payments, repairs and warranty
Any PwC data stored on your personal smart device remains the property of PwC Australia. This encompasses all information related to the firm's operations, clients, and projects.
- PwC Australia reserves the right to manage firm data on personal smart devices and will maintain some control over these devices to safeguard firm and client information, as outlined above.
- In addition, PwC Australia may require physical access to your personal smart device if it is reasonably necessary, including:
- to maintain a safe and secure working environment for all employees of PwC Australia;
- for any legal or regulatory compliance;
- to assist PwC Australia in relation to any Employee / Partner conduct matters; or
- if PwC Australia are aware of a potential or suspected data breach.
- If PwC Australia requires physical access to your personal smart device, PwC Australia's access will be limited to targeted searches, which will be conducted under your supervision (to the extent possible). PwC Australia will abide by privacy laws in relation to personal information.
